Funding for California public schools is fundamentally broken - Let’s fix it together and rebuild our schools
During my first term, I’ve gained a deep understanding of the challenges of California’s school funding system. Teacher salaries have not kept pace with the high cost of living in the Bay Area, and our students deserve 21st-century facilities that foster both learning and community. I remain committed to mobilizing our community to reform school funding, ensuring we can invest properly in our teachers, students, and infrastructure. Both federal and state leaders have failed to provide sufficient resources, especially for special education and infrastructure. It’s time to unite our CVUSD community to secure a better deal for public school funding and reverse the disinvestment in education.
As a start, I encourage you to support Proposition 2, Public Education Facilities Bond Measure. CalMatters provides a factual overview of Proposition 2 that outlines the pros and cons.
